A Leitrim ladies footballer received best wishes from one of Ireland’s biggest Hollywood stars ahead of this weekend’s All-Ireland IFC final against Tyrone.
Actor Brendan Gleeson paid a visit to The Red Bank Restaurant in Carrick-on-Shannon this week and wished Leitrim defender Edel Shanley and her team mates the best of luck before Sunday’s big game at Croke Park.
In a social media post, the restaurant had a picture of the two and caption that reads “Brendan popped in to wish Edel & all involved with Leitrim Ladies GFA the best of luck on Sunday in the All Ireland Final”.
Leitrim and Tyrone will cross swords at 1.45pm tomorrow at headquarters where both teams are set to bid for Mary Quinn Memorial Cup. All three of tomorrow’s finals will be broadcast live on TG4.
